Sano in Tochigi (North of Tokyo) isn't a big city...but it's one that deeply loves its ramen.
Sano style ramen is lightly seasoned with a beautiful soy sauce. This holds up a delicate and pure tasting soup. The toppings are a nice treat - big bamboo shoots (menma), green spring onions (negi), and a big slab of chashu pork. But the most special feature might be the thick, flat noodles - a Sano speciality!
- Boil 430 ml of water
- Open lid (without removing completely)
- Place toppings in DARK BLUE packet on top of noodles
- Pour boiled water up to line, seal lid and place DARK GREEN (soup) on top to heat
- After 5 minutes, break up noodles, pour in DARK GREEN and CLEAR packets, mix soup, and it's ready!
