Miyazaki Karamen

Karamen hails from Miyazaki Prefecture in Southern Japan (Kyushu).

It’s certainly different from tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen, which is most common to the region. With a soup bright red in color, Karamen is spicy! Just like in Miyazaki, this instant Karamen uses plenty of togarashi chili pepper. There are also strong notes of garlic in the soup. The toppings aren’t what you typically find in ramen - fluffy egg and Nira (garlic chives). They have even added tomato bits, which add some acidity to everything.
